People will no longer be able to apply for membership other than through a friend, or family member. As it stands now, people can click on the 'Public Notice' on our page and go through a screening process before being allowed in for a look at our site. * Connections4U has been experiencing payout delays. The Admin of the program also has been swamped with emails. The reason for the delays is said to be because of improvements in the program. The Program admin asks their members to bare with them while they make their nessesary improvements. * Blackmailer attacks HYIPs. Quite a few HYIP's have reported recieving blackmail demands from a person named Alex. Alex blackmailed many programs, asking for $5.00/day from each one. The blackmailer threatened to send out spam emails for all the programs if he did not recieve the $5.00/day from them. Several programs gave into his threats, while others did not. If you are an admin of a program, we recommend not giving into these types of threats, because it will just harm the HYIP community. It might mean risking having your hosting suspended for a little while, but it's not worth the trouble of what can happen if these blackmailers are successful. Some of the programs hit by the blackmailer include: Gold Secure, Fox Investments, and Caribe Investments. * StableProfits.com, a program which closed up over a month ago and promised refunds, has still been making these refunds. Everyone hasn't been refunded yet, but hundreds have been. The admin of the program plans to refund everyone over a period of time. However they have over $10K in refunds to make, and plan to take quite some time in doing so. Whether or not everyone will eventually get full refunds is yet to be determined. * AusGold is continuing to refund their members, even though it's taking some time. * Gold Mine 9, has changed their e-gold account due to a hacker. The Admin hasn't given any updates either, so it looks as if they are a Scam. * The Admin of Trade For Gold, who originally said they were going private, decided to close the program up instead. * GoldxTrader has also stopped making payouts, and have not tried to contact anyone. Appears that they are also a scam. * Pacific Investment Club has also haulted payouts with no communication to members. Another program that looked reliable at first and now is looking like a scam. * Gold Storage has officially been termed a "SCAM" by the HYIPMailer writers. It is also now known that ModernHYIP.com was also run by the same admin as Gold-Storage was. -------------------------------------------------- II - IS REFERRING OTHERS TO PROGRAMS ETHICAL? This has been brought up at the Talkgold.com forum. When is it right or wrong to refer others to HYIP Programs? There are many sites, and indivduals who probably make a living off of simply referring other investors to certain HYIPs. Is this ethical in the HYIP arena? It's a tough question to answer. There are two main types of people who refer others to programs: Type #1 - People who simply are out for themselves. They see an opportunity and jump all over it. If they spot a program that offers a lucrative referral bonus, without even thinking they sign up and start referring others. They don't care if the program is a scam or not, and usually could care less about the people which they refer. Even if they are almost certain the program will not last long enough for new members to profit, they still tell vulnerable new investors about the program. Whether you call this selfishness, immoral, or scamming, this kind of behavior simply makes the HYIP arena a much more dangerous environment. This type of person could be an owner of a rating site, or simply a member of a forum who tells others about various programs. We are aware of several forum posters and one or two well known sites which seem to be in the HYIP affiliated business simply to earn referral incentives. Type #2 - People who are proud of their HYIP portfolio, and want to share there success with others. Often these are people who simply let others know about programs which they truely feel are safe and secure investments. They refer others as sort of a double reward. They get the pleasure out of knowing that they are an expert in the field, helping others, while also getting some extra cash from referrals. Many individuals like to create a name for themselves by constantly recommending safe programs, and having those who follow their suggestions succeed. We feel that this type of person is not a danger to the HYIP community and can actually be an asset. To sum things up: Referring others to programs can be beneficial in many ways to both the HYIP community and oneself, however, it all depends on the mindset and motives behind the person doing the referring. If you are referring, always remember to tell others that these programs can fail at any time.
